It wasn’t a big controversy that when it was first revealed to the world, but as the time went, it started to play an important role of people and society. Nowadays, it had dug deep in our life, and became very essential in our society. In this essay, it explains positive, negative roles of social media.

 In negative way, social media, made by the development of IT and smartphone was a contemporary technology of sharing each other’s life but shifted its role by users. 2009, the year that a representative SNS YouTube was revealed to the world, people embarked to the ship named social life and started to expose their life. As a lot of people had publicized their life, people used social media for earning view or followers, the SNS, which was made for sharing life, became a field of negative contents for popularity. In real life however, people’s life was totally buried in SNS, and they were living for their popularity. This had caused side effects, made people concealing their real trivial life dislike the purpose of social media, and decorated themselves exaggeratedly in SNS. As a result, people became more individualistic and violent, the interaction and communication of our society had decreased. This people’s desire of followers had conveyed the essence of people wanting awareness, and how the social media had negatively affected our life.   

 In positive way, social media emerges a leap of the technique to deliver useful information subsequently and conveniently. Differ from the users that upload posts for awareness, there are some users that reveals useful advice and other users apply in real life. Consider people lived around 1800 AC. They needed to transmit mail or build signal fires to show information, nowadays, people can just upload post at the internet or view podcasts. The fast transmit capability of SNS transcends the boundary of time and place, people could earn the information at internet where, whenever. The convenient system and programs of SNS made people available to share their knowledge, people solve problems with guidance gained in social media. To comprehend something hard, social media became essential in our life, and people became available to expand their capabilities of solving problems by SNS.

 In conclusion, social media negatively emerges as revealing people’s essence of wanting awareness, but positively it has an essential role for earning information. Social media transcends the boundary of time and place, allowing us to grasp useful advice and guidance, but also gives us inappropriate posts for earning followers.
