  • Why Morality Matters in Society
Have you ever heard of the knockout game? It¡¯s quite the rage in the US recently. It¡¯s a game where teenagers suddenly punch an unaware stranger, causing them to become unconscious. While these teens think it¡¯s a fun game, these acts can turn into serious crimes. When people fall unconscious, their heads can smash into concrete. This can lead to serious brain injury and even death. If these teens had a sense of morality, they would understand that this behavior is unacceptable.

One reason why morality matters in society is that following moral rules helps build trust and enables people to work together. When people adhere to moral rules, they build trust in each other, as others can predict each other's behavior more accurately. Research from Harvard University, one of the top universities in the US, has shown that "in workplaces where honesty and integrity were prioritized, employees reported higher levels of trust in their colleagues and supervisors. This trust led to increased collaboration, better problem-solving, and overall higher job satisfaction." If people do not follow moral rules, society will become a place filled with hate, greed, and cutthroat competition. People will experience stress, which may lead to suicide. Crimes will occur due to a lack of trust, decreased collaboration, and low job satisfaction. In other words, society will become a disastrous place. To create a good and beautiful society and life, we must consider morality as crucial in society.

In conclusion, it is evident that doing good things is crucial for making our society a better place to live. Recent troubling events, such as teenagers engaging in harmful pranks, demonstrate the consequences of ignoring what is right. Morality, which involves understanding the difference between right and wrong, is essential for fostering trust and teamwork among us. Research has demonstrated that workplaces where people are honest and fair have happier and more cooperative employees. Conversely, when we neglect the importance of being good, society becomes unfriendly and competitive, leading to negative outcomes. Therefore, it is imperative for all of us to prioritize being good and following ethical principles, as it contributes to creating a happier and better community for everyone.
