  • The Constant Rise of Gold Prices


   Recently, the price of gold in both Korea and the whole world has been increasing very much. Especially, gold prices in the United States reached an all-time high by being 4,000 dollars per troy ounce(about 31 grams). There is a reason for this extreme rise. 

Gold prices tend to rise when an economic recession is predicted to be in progress. This is because unlike stock prices and deposited money, gold prices retain its value because gold is a real asset. Moreover, central banks lower the base rate to prevent recessions, which cause the value of the money to decrease. These factors make more people to invest in gold. 

   Experts say the constant increase of gold prices is caused by many different factors. Earlier, the US failed in making a consensus about the budget plan, stopping some of the work of the government. In addition, the whole world is in tension because of the tariffs of America and retaliatory duties by other countries. However, as the prices of gold recently seems to start to decrease, investors should also keep in mind that the price can continue to fall.
