​Have you ever heard the term EU? Well, I have. The EU stands for the "European Union". In this article, I am going to explain about its history, what it does, and its main news.


First, let's learn about the EU's history. The European Union was established in 7 February 1992 by Belgium, France, West Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. But, its initial roots were in 1950 when France's Foreign Minister proposed merging the coal and steel production of European countries to secure lasting peace.


Second, let's learn about what it does. The EU creates a single internal market where markets, goods, services, and people can move freely around. Also, it creates laws that applies to all of the EU member states. In addition, it promotes peace within Europe.


Lastly, let's see the main news about the EU. Donald Trump agreed with the head of the EU to a tariff deal. The rate decreased from 25 to 15 percent. Also, the EU made a tarrif deal with Indonesia.
