If
There Were a Blackout in Your Home Tonight, What Would You Do?
By
Choi Rin-ah, Seoul Gagok Elementary School
If there were a blackout in your home tonight, what would
you do? When I was younger, there was a blackout in my home during the day. It
was okay because it was bright outside. I used LED lighting while taking a
shower and always had my phone with me to light up dark places. However, if
there were a blackout in my home tonight, it would be much harder to pass the time. I would like to introduce several things I would do
if there were a blackout.
First, I would find something to light up the room, such
as LED lighting, and wait until my parents figure out why the blackout happens.
Honestly, I don¡¯t know much about electricity, so it would be better to simply stay calm and find something that gives off
light, like an LED light or a lamp. Next, I would have fun with my older sister
by playing games and eating
perishable items like ice cream, cheese, and vegetables. Or, I would lie down
on my bed for a while. If my parents figured out what happened and the problem
was serious, I would just stay in my room, lying down for a bit. However, if
the problem wasn¡¯t serious, I¡¯d go outside with my family.
Second, I¡¯d go outside with my family. We would walk
around our apartment complex, while chatting. If I got tired of walking around
the complex, I would leave and go to a convenience store, a playground, or a
self-service café. At the convenience store, I¡¯d buy jelly, candy, sweets,
drinks, and triangle-shaped rice balls. At the playground, I¡¯d play on the
swings. At the self-service café, I¡¯d buy beverages and snacks. I would stay
outside until I
felt sleepy, which would be around midnight. When I got home, I would brush my
teeth, change my clothes, and go to sleep.
In conclusion, I would find something to light up the
room, such as LED lighting, and wait until my parents figured out why the
blackout happened. After
that, I¡¯d go outside with my family if there were a blackout in my home. What
would you do if there were a blackout in your home?
