Will AI Replace Teachers in the Classroom?

These days, artificial intelligence (AI) is used in many
ways to enhance people's lives. The development of AI has significantly changed
the way teachers teach students in classrooms. Although AI can bring many
advantages to the classroom, I believe that it cannot fully replace teachers.
Firstly, even though AI can provide limitless knowledge and
information compared to human teachers, AI’s lack of emotional understanding of
students prevents it from teaching in the same way as human teachers do.
Imparting accurate knowledge to students is important, but educating students
is more than that. In classrooms, the teachers’ continuous emotional support
and strong connections with students help them to grow as people. AI will never
be able to mimic how human teachers understand students and give emotional
support.
Secondly, teachers can adapt and change their teaching
methods more effectively and quickly to meet the needs of individual students.
Students are different from one another. So, teachers can adjust and provide
personalized learning experiences depending on each student’s needs, capacity,
and pace of learning. However, AI only uses its data and statistics to provide
learning materials to students, so it often fails to read between the lines.
This makes it hard to identify gaps of understanding in students.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that AI cannot replace
human teachers because it does not have the capabilities to emotionally support
and understand students and is unable to meet students’ emotional needs in
classrooms. Therefore, teacher will not be replaced by AI in the classroom.
