Many whales are endangered. Whales are animals, just like us, so they have the right to be protected. Because the number of whales is decreasing, and because most of them are our fault, we should help them as much as we can. And one of the ways is to stop whaling. Besides, if the number of animals decreased, it is hard to put the numbers back. For example, Blue Whales, one of the endangered animals, has an extremely low population after banning whaling for over 40 years in the Antarctic. Just like we wash our hands to avoid cold, we should ban whaling before the situations get bigger that we can’t even put our hands on. There are lots of endangered animals. 

People have little demand for whale meat. People catch and kill animals to eat. On the other hand, in the case of whales, few people not only eat them but also kill them to get whatever they have such as their leathers which are colorful. Eating is okay because it’s essential for us to eat to survive, but because whales are endangered and they are not creatures to be killed so many, we should not do whaling. According to Evan McKirdy and Yoko Wakatsuki, in a Japanese survey in 2014, only 4% of respondents said they ate whale meat occasionally, compared to 37% who said they didn’t eat it at all. This shows that whaling is not commonly used in eating, but for other purposes which could be used to make things out of their leathers. Because whale is the second object of eating, we shouldn’t whale.

Whale meats would be contaminated very fast.

According to Humane Society International, "whales are particularly vulnerable to environmental contaminants." Plus, meats, especially whale meats have lots of toxins. Because too many whale meats are being trashed due to the toxins and being rotten, this causes extremely serious environmental problems. Thus, catching endangered whales should be banned.
